It is the first coal-fired power plant in Sri Lanka currently and also the construction project with the largest scale of Sri Lanka since the establishment of the nation.
China-aid foreign project to Sri Lanka designated 2 KDE3500C (with single-machine capacity of 2.4MW) container-type generators with excellent performance of KIPOR to provide electric power guarantee for Puttalam Coal-fired Power Plant. This type of machine adopts KD20V171ZLCR engine independently researched and developed by KIPOR, is equipped with advanced high pressure common rail fuel injection system of Bosch from Germany, has terrific transient loading performance (meeting GB2820.3 G3 standard), high reliability, low noise and low fuel consumption, and meets National III emission standard.
On May 1, 2017, KIPOR dispatched a technical services group to Puttalam Coal-fired Power Plant in Sri Lanka, successfully finished overhaul, installation, debugging and training on diesel generating sets, and successfully passed acceptance check under witness of Ceylon Electricity Board and leaders of the power plant. Sri Lanka highly praised our technical team's work efficiency and quality of service.
Apart from providing the whole set of electric power solutions, KIPOR also provided on-site technical service, professional job training and operation guidance for the power plant.
